When do I need a Building Permit or a Use and Occupancy permit?

How do I start a small business in Plymouth Township?
All businesses are required to obtain a Use and Occupancy permit first, then apply for a Mercantile License (for wholesale or retail businesses) or a Business Privilege License (for service businesses). The fee for a Use and Occupancy permit depends on the size of the commercial space. License fees range from $25.00 - $50.00. The application for a Use and Occupancy permit can be downloaded from the forms section of our website.

How do I request copies of public documents?
The form can be downloaded from the forms section of our website. This form must be mailed or brought directly to the Township.

How do I register myself or my child for a local sports team?
Sports organizations within Plymouth Township function as their own entities. Each organization consists of volunteers who serve and operate with a board of officers to coordinate and manage the daily functions of the league. Click here for contact information.

Why wasn't my trash collected?
Large items are picked up on second regular collection day. Yard waste is collected every monday. Trash may not be picked up if more than four containers set out for collection or if containers are larger than 30 gallons or weigh more than 50 lbs. Unacceptable items for trash pickup include refuse resulting from repair, excavation, or construction of buildings(sand, earth, lumber, brick, stone, mortar, plaster, roofing materials,plumbing fixtures, tires, hazardous wastes, appliances and yard waste).
Collection of trash and recyclables will be made on the next scheduled collection day when the collection day falls on a holiday.

What items are recycled?
Items that are recycled include: newspapers, junk mail, aluminum cans, magazines, glass, bimetal cans and cardboard

Can I place household appliances in my trash?
Household Appliances are collected on the third Thursday of the month. Call the Public Works Department to get a sticker and get on the collection list. There is a charge of $10 to remove items such as freezers, refrigerators, and air conditioners that contain freon and other gases.

How can I get a copy of a police report?
To obtain a copy of a police report, send a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check for $15.00 payable to Plymouth Township Police Department. Include the date of the incident, type of incident, location, and persons involved. You can also pick up a copy of a police report at the Township Building between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.
