Bring your furry companion to enjoy a walk at Harriet Wetherill Park with family and friendly activities. Create an ornament with your best friend’s paw print, try out an agility course, get some treats from one of our vendors and cool off in our sprinklers. Perseid Meteor Shower Party (Families)
At the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower you can see 100 shooting stars per hour. Join us for a quick lesson and activity about the night sky and then star gaze to see how many meteors you can spot. Dress in pajamas and bring chairs/blankets to sit on. Snack will be provided. No flashlights, your vision takes 30 minutes in darkness to have effective “night vision.” There is a free app, “SkyView Lite” that can be downloaded onto smart phones if you wish. It will help you identify constellations and planets in the night sky (personal data rates apply). Cash payment only for walk-ins. Location: HWP-Butler Pike
